The Kiwanis Club of Oroville was formed on November 17, 1931. Today the club's membership is about 41.
The club's average yearly project expenditures are $45,000. This includes a Needy Children Project, Scholarships, Hooked on Fishing, providing a building for a sheltered workshop and miscellaneous other service project expenditures. The club completed a $37,000 one time project to purchase a Fire Safety Training House for South Butte County in 1994. This Fire Safety House was donated to the City of Oroville, and used within the South Butte County area. This club is involved in Butte County Safe Community for Children, which has many areas of involvement like, bike helmets, safe routes to school, car seats, bike safety. This year the club will hosting its 54th annual Kiddies Parade.

Oroville is located on State Route 70 at State Route 162, 70 miles north of Sacramento, and 26 miles south of Chico, California. Located just 2 miles west of Lake Oroville, an exceptional recreational area with over 160 miles of shoreline that is loved by fishing, water skiing and boating enthusiasts.About Our City
The City of Oroville is a small town located in Northern California. The population of the town is about 12,000. Within a 10 mile radius of the down town area there is a population of 45,000. Sitting at the base of the foothills in Sacramento Valley, at an elevation of 170 feet, it is warm in the summer months. The winters are normally mild. With Lake Oroville just a few miles to the east, the Feather River running through town the fishing is great all year long. There is a airport located about 3 miles west of the town, and three golf courses located within a few miles of the City. There is a fish hatchery located in town, the best time to visit the hatchery is late September and October.
